Arch Enterprises Expands Capabilities to Include Refining of Silver Tungsten Electrical Contacts

Mexico, Mo (September 2010) - Arch Enterprises has expanded its silver refining services to include recycling silver tungsten electrical contacts. The precious metal refiner now has the capacity to refine low and high grade silver electrical contacts and returns payments based on the amount of material and the purity of the silver content.

"With silver trading in the $18 per troy ounce range this year, more and more companies are taking a close look at their scrap to see if it has any value. Such is the case with companies making electrical contacts. Many commercial grade electrical contacts contain silver and tungsten alloys that contain between 25 and 50 percent silver. Despite this, many were paying to have defective, returned and obsolete electrical contacts taken out of their facility, not aware of their value," said Julie DiNatale, national sales manager for Arch Enterprises. "We educate these clients on the value of this scrap and then help them set up a program to recycle them."

Arch Enterprises' refining facility can handle small lots to truck load shipments with its large-scale R4-B rotary furnaces and thermal oxidation units for refining. With extensive experience in silver metal refining, Arch uses proven processing technology to maximize the amount of silver extracted from the contacts. Compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental is constantly maintained with all refining processes.

"We have a strong history of working with industrial applications such as tungsten silver electrical contacts. Our refining facility and equipment were specifically designed to handle large amounts of industrial scrap material and we refine everything from silver sludge from plating processes to X-ray film from hospital storage rooms. We are excited to forge new relationships within the electrical component manufacturing industry with our silver refining services," said DiNatale.
