Gold Conversion Example This calculator does not take any percentage out of the final estimate. Here is an example of how the calculator works on a gold conversion. If you have 34.6 grams of 14 karat gold it first converts the grams into troy ounces. 34.6 grams x 0.0321507466 = 1.1124142 troy ounces Then it multiplies the troy ounces by the purity. For 14 karat gold it multiplies by 0.5824 1.1124142 x 0.5824 = 0.64787 Finally it takes this number and multiples by the market price of gold. This price changes daily, for this example we will use $1,016 per troy ounce. 0.64787 x 1016 = 658.24 So, $658.24 is the final dollar amount of the market value of gold that the calculator will provide.

This calculator provides an approximate value for the amount of fine (or pure) gold or silver in your item. It does not factor in intrinsic value that may apply to rare collectibles and coins or branded jewelry.  Plus, the calculator provides market indications of what your gold and silver is worth if it were in an investment grade form.  It is not a confirmation of Arch Enterprises’ purchase price.
