Silver bars come in two distinct classes: Minted or Rough. Minted bars typically contain 99.9% silver and are made by certified manufacturers. They are primarily used by investors. We can pay more for minted bars than we can for rough bars.
Rough bars are those poured by refineries, photo houses, silversmiths, and jewelers. Unlike minted bars, the actual silver content is not always known and even if it is known, it probably is not certified. For these types of bars, we will melt the bars and determine the weight of the silver and pay for its precious metal content.
Arch Enterprises purchases both certified and rough silver bars.
